Description

The State Fair Men's Amateur Championship is a 54-hole stroke play tournament with 18 holes played each day. After 36 holes, the field will be cut after 36 holes to the low 45 players and ties. Ties for the championship title will be settled via a "sudden victory" playoff, starting from the first tee immediately upon the conclusion of the final round of play.

7:00 - 8:48am Round #1, Wave #1 / 9 minute intervals / Groups of three
11:50am - 1:38pm Round #1, Wave #2 / 9 minute intervals / Groups of three
Sunday, September 5
6:00am - 7:00pm Driving Range open
7:00 - 8:48am Round #2, Wave #1 / 9 minute intervals / Groups of three

Monday, September 6
6:00 - 9:15am Driving Range open
7:00 - 9:30am Final Round / 9 minute intervals / Groups of three
~2:00pm "Sudden victory" playoff for the SFC title (if necessary)
~2:00pm SFC Awards presentation immediately after the conclusion of play
Rules
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as currently approved by the USGA. The pace of play for all SFC rounds is 4 hours and 40 minutes. The SFC Pace of Play will be strictly enforced in a similar manner as the current procedures enacted by the USGA. Notice to Competitors, Local Rules and Tournament Conditions will be provided by email at the close of entries. The Tournament Committee requires that all players wear non-metal spikes. Golf shorts of appropriate length are permitted. The Committee reserves the right to reject an entry at any time before or after the start of tournament play. Any player engaging in unbecoming or unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to disqualification. The Committee reserves the right to alter the conditions and schedules herein. Distance-only measuring devices are permitted.

Carts and Caddies
Any SFC contestant may utilize a cart without limitation or restriction during any round of the Championship at the contestant's expense. Carts not rented or assigned to a particular contestant may be available to spectators and others at the discretion of Haggin Oaks at such a person's expense, but no assurance of such availability is made by the SFC. Those seeking a spectator cart should contact the course pro shop for cart availability prior to arriving at the course. Players may carry their own bags or provide their own caddies. Caddies represent the player and therefore must follow the Championship dress and rules of conduct.

Prizes
The Champion receives a Crystal trophy, a merchandise gift card, and a 10-year SFC exemption. The runner-up receives a Crystal trophy, a merchandise gift card, and a 10-year SFC exemption. The top 20 finishers (plus ties) receive a merchandise gift card and exemptions as detailed on the Eligibility page. For tee prizes, all players returning a 54-hole score will receive a merchandise gift card.

Ranking Points
The SFC is a points event in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Ranking, and the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking (SPWAR). For Northern California players, the SFC is a Northern California Golf Association.
