Format

The North Sound Shootout will feature a different format each day.
•Swinomish Golf Links-Two Person Best Ball
•Avalon Golf Links-Two Person Scramble

Format Descriptions
•Best Ball: Each player on the team will play their own ball the entire round. The player with the lowest score – or “best ball” – on each hole records that score as the team score.
•Scramble: Each player will hit his/her tee shot (First Stroke). The team will then choose to play one of the two shots. Each player then hits a shot from the approximate position of the ball they chose (2nd stroke). Repeat until the ball is holed, counting strokes accordingly. Please note, you must use 6 tee shots from each player and note it on the scorecard.

This is Net And Gross Scoring Event. All players must have a registered and active handicap to compete on the net. Some formats will used a player’s full handicap, while others will use a percentage of their handicap. Cascade Golfer reserves the right to use your current handicap index, your lowest handicap in the last 12 months or a tournament handicap based on previous tournament events, including the Cascade Golfer Cup. Cascade Golfer is committed to ensuring that all golfers are playing to an accurate handicap. If the tournament feels any player has manipulated their handicap index in any form, or otherwise has been dishonest about their handicap, they will be instantly disqualified and no refund will be offered.

Handicaps

We use the USGA Recommendations percentages for Scramble
•Best Ball: Full course handicap for each player. Ex: Tom has a course handicap of 9. Jerry’s is 14. On the hole with the course handicap of 11 Jerry will get one stroke while Tom will not. If they both hole out in 5 (gross score) Tom will have a net score of 5 while Jerry will have a net score of 4. Jerry’s score would be the team’s net score on that hole.
•Scramble: Based on the course handicap you take 35% of the lowest handicapped player and 15% of the highest handicapped player and add them together for the team handicap. Net team score will be the team handicap subtracted from the Gross Score

The overall team champion will be determined by the two-day scoring total. The event is open to men and women. Men will play from the Blues, or equivalent, while women will play from the forward tees.

Cancellation:

Cancellations after May 20 will not receive a refund.
