As a student/athlete at Michigan State University I had the pleasure to work with both the Special Olympics and Children’s Miracle Network. I learned so much about myself and what helping others was really all about. I was so touched by this experience that I made a promise that if I was ever in a position to really give back to these organizations I would do so. I had the ability to keep my promise when the Detroit Lions drafted me with the 43rd overall pick in the 2007 draft. I have been fortunate enough to continue my boyhood dream of playing professional football and am now going into my 9th season in the NFL, now playing for the Arizona Cardinals. With High 5ive, I want to make other peoples’ dreams come true. The mission of the High 5ive Foundation is to improve the quality of life for all people with varying disabilities through raising public awareness and inspiring individuals toward achieving personal goals which at one time seemed unattainable.
