RULES OF PLAY: Men and Women: Assigned to a team based on the index, and each team will have a player from each category. (ABCD) Players will: 1. Hit tee-ball then select the best shot 2. Hit second shot from the selected shot position 3. Continue as above until the ball is holed out 4. Each player’s drive must be used twice (men and women) 5. USGA approved rangefinders are permitted (Details in Rule Sheet at registration, on the scorecard, and online at www.nrmgc.com) Note: Men 70 years and older use “SENIOR” tees. Men and Women 80 years and older use “SUPER SENIOR” tees. HANDICAPS: All players must have a valid up-to-date index card and military ID card at registration. If you supplied us with your GHIN number OR equivalent online system number then you do not need to submit handicap changes and we will not ask you for your index card for handicap verification at registration. Players’ handicap index will be verified through the GHIN system OR equivalent online system number as of 20 May 2022. If you are not enrolled in the GHIN system, verification of your index will be required during tournament registration and failure to provide an up-to-date index card may result in a handicap adjustment. Index changes will be accepted IN WRITING ONLY until 20 May, 2022. No changes thereafter. Non-valid indexes will be a basis for disqualification or non-acceptance of a participant. The maximum index for men is 36.4 and for women is 40.4. These maximums will be strictly enforced. RULINGS: NRMGC rulings are final. SPECIAL NOTE: ONLY SOFT SPIKES WILL BE ALLOWED ON ALL COURSES Gift certificates awarded for the men’s team prizes places 10 and above will be mailed. All women’s prizes will be awarded at the award ceremony. Other prizes must be picked up by Saturday, 4 June 2022 at Myrtle Beach National. The final number of team place prizes awarded will be determined by the size of the field. RULES AND REGULATIONS GOLF CLASSIC INFORMATION (ALL TIMES ARE SHOTGUN START) 1. Competition will take place at Myrtle Beach National (South Creek, West Course, and King’s North), Myrtlewood’s (Pine Hills and Palmetto), Wild Wing, and Burning Ridge. 2. Entry Fee Men $365 - Women $320 includes: • Golf, cart, awards, prizes, and special drawings, drink tickets, food and drink certificates or Alabama show tickets, Classic golf shirts, and commemorative gifts. 3. Starting times and assigned courses available at registration, 31 May at Myrtle Beach National (0800 - 1600) and also at www.nrmgc.com beginning on Friday, 27 May 2022. 4. Playing Format: • Men: ABCD Team play for four days. Rotate foursome and course each day. • Women: ABCD Team play three days. Rotate foursome and course each day. 5 Team and individual prizes include gift certificates, Par 3 Closest to the Pin prizes every day, and special drawings. 6. | 2022 Golf Trek Challenge | 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM | The Golf Trek Challenge is hosted just north of Myrtle Beach and is open to all golfers with a WHS or international equivalent handicap. This two-person team, the 54-hole competition consists of three rounds of tournament golf, welcome gifts, prizes, and more! Click here for full tournament details and schedule. The cost to enter the Golf Trek Challenge is $279 per player for the tournament only. It comes with: Three (3) rounds of tournament golf Green fee, cart fee, range Logo’d Tournament Gift $75 gift card to Houses Place Top finishers receive a trophy & credits towards their next Golf Trek Golf Vacation Awards & random drawing prizes! The Golf Trek Challenge is a two-person team event. The tournament will utilize a different format each day and will be scored with net results. Round 1 – Best Ball Round 2 – Texas Scramble Round 3 – Modified Alternate Shot Flighting of teams is strictly by total team handicap with an estimated 50 teams per flight for a full field of 200 participants (100 teams). Men Under 60 – 6,000 – 6,500 yards* Men 60 – 69 – 5,500 – 6,000 yards* Men 70 + – 5,000 – 5,500 yards (or shortest rated for Men)* Ladies – 4,500 – 5,000 yards* *All distances listed are guidelines and are subject to changes All participants are required to maintain a WHS approved handicap to be eligible to win prizes. All participants will utilize their lowest 12-month index for competition. Handicaps are subject to review for accuracy and may be adjusted or deemed ineligible for prizes at any time for any reason, including for exceptional scores, by the tournament committee without refund of entry fee. Handicap deadline days are important to remember! The tournament committee will request your handicap information on May 27th and requests it be returned no later than June 2nd. Failure to comply can result in being deemed ineligible for prizes. Furthermore, it is recommended all participants have a WHS handicap established as soon as possible if not already attained upon registration. At Golf Tourism Solutions, we operate multiple handicap events throughout the calendar year. In order to better serve our participants, we have developed and deployed a Tournament Points System for each event that helps our team better monitor handicapping year to year for those that consistently finish at or near the top of the leaderboard. First place = 5 points Second Place = 4 points Third Place = 3 points Fourth Place = 2 points Fifth place = 1 point This system takes into account an individual's top performances across the previous two years of the event using a cumulative points system. Once their TPS point total for the event reaches a certain level over the two-year period for the event, the TPS reduction is then applied to the tournament index for that participant. The levels of reduction are detailed below. Teams that finish in the Top 6 of their flight will be awarded Golf Trek Package credits for future golf vacation packages. 1st place – $300 2nd place – $150 3rd place – $125 4th place – $100 5th place – $75 6th place – $50 Amounts are per player, based on 2 flights of 50 teams The USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. Local rules at each course will apply. The Tournament Committee will resolve all disputes regarding every aspect of tournament play. You can expect to play a tee box that is reflective of your age. Men 59 & younger will play the standard white tee. Standard senior tees will be utilized for those 60 years or older and ladies from the standard ladies tees. All tee boxes will be assigned at tournament staff discretion. Participants above the age of 59 that wish to play a back tee (and play to a back tee course handicap) may request to do so upon Handicap submission in June. Please note you will play the equivalent of the standard white tee. The Golf Trek Challenge will refund any participant that may cancel between their date of entry and May 18, 2022, minus a $30 cancellation fee. Any cancellation received after May 18, 2022, and before 5:00 PM EST on June 2, 2022, will be refunded, minus a $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations received after 5:00 PM EST on June 2, 2022, will not be refunded any of their entry fees regardless of circumstance. All cancellations must be in writing and sent to the Tournament staff either by email. Emails can be sent to Ryan at RHart@GolfHoliday.com. No refunds or exchanges will be made if the tournament is canceled or shortened due to weather, nature, Act of God. One completed round constitutes a tournament.
