| City of Palm Desert Championship | 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM | The City of Palm Desert and Desert Willow Golf Resort is pleased to announce the 2022 City of Palm Desert Championship. This Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 28, 2022, and Sunday, May 29, 2022, team up to compete in TWO rounds of golf and prove you're the best golfer in town! New! This year the City of Palm Desert Championship will be an open team event. Teams may sign up as mixed couples, male/male, female/female, and adult/junior. Limited to the first 72 teams of two paid and registered. Tournament Schedule Saturday, May 28, 2022 Registration 7:00 am Continental Breakfast 7:00 am Shotgun Start course: Mountain View format: 2 people best ball 8:00 am Sunday, May 29, 2022 Registration 7:00 am Continental Breakfast 7:00 am Shotgun Start course: Firecliff format: 2 person scramble 8:00 am Awards Luncheon 1:00 pm Entry Fee Palm Desert Resident - $300 per player* Non-Resident - $400 per player TWO days of championship golf Day One - Mountain View Course Day Two- Firecliff Course Tee Gift One practice round (one week in advance after 11:00 am) Continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday Awards luncheon on Sunday Par 3 challenges (closest to the pin) Raffle prizes *Palm Desert Residents must have a valid Palm Desert Resident Card Flight Information The field will be split into two Flights – Flight A and Flight B. Flights are determined based on participation levels. (subject to change) Teams will compete in an “open” format. (There will be no men’s, women’s, or senior divisions) A Flight – Gross and Net Net players may select any tee box. Course handicaps will be adjusted based on the tees you choose Gross players will be required to play from the qualifying tee boxes (below). B Flight – Net Only Players may select any tee box. Course handicaps will be adjusted based on the tees you choose Eligibility to compete for Gross awards will require playing the following qualifying tee boxes: Qualifying Tee Boxes Men Purple Tees Ladies Tan Tees Ladies Senior 55+ Green Tees Men's Senior 55+ Lavender Tees Registration Current USGA/GHIN Handicap from May 2022 is required for any net competition but will not be required for gross flight.
