The Mesquite Amateur consists of a five-day 54-hole, net, stoke play tournament. Participants compete against a field of players with a similar handicap. There is also a practice round held on the first day of the event (Practice round is not included in entry and the individual must make their own practice round arrangements).

Finalist rankings will be determined by comparing the three-day cumulative score. The top four participants from each flight will complete in the 18-hole championship round at the CasaBlanca Golf Club. USGA rules will govern the play. Monday, May 26
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tournament registration begins in the showroom at the CasaBlanca Resort. Players pick up their final course and flight assignments. Early arrivals can also take advantage of special arrangements with all area courses in Mesquite and Coyote Springs. Monday is the best opportunity for practice rounds (It is up to the individual to book their own practice round and it is not included in the entry fee).

6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mesquite Amateur reception dinner in the CasaBlanca Events Center, featuring a catered menu developed by area chefs.
Tuesday, May 27
7:30a.m. round one play begins with a shotgun start at all six courses in Mesquite and Coyote Springs.
6 p.m. – 8 p.m. - Mesquite Amateur Dinner in the CasaBlanca Events Center. Come enjoy great entertainment and raffle prizes. First round scores will be posted.
Wednesday, May 28
7:30 a.m. Round two play begins with a shotgun start at all six courses in Mesquite and Coyote Springs.

2:45 p.m. The Mesquite Amateur will host a Texas hold ‘Em Championship $65 per person at the Eureka hotel and Casino. Players will check in at the poker room by 2:45pm and compete for a variety of cash and gift prizes.
6 p.m.-8 p.m. Mesquite Amateur Dinner in the CasaBlanca Events Center. Come and enjoy a full dinner buffet along with a themed drink of the night. Second round scores will be posted.
8 p.m. Cigars Under the Stars- by the CasaBlanca Pool- Going into its 6th year Cigars under the stars is one of the weeks most popular events! Come puff on a stogie and enjoy a cocktail and enjoy another beautiful Mesquite night.
Thursday, May 29
7:30 a.m. Round three play begins with a shotgun start at all six courses in Mesquite and Coyote Springs.

6 p.m.-8 p.m. Mesquite Amateur Championship Dinner in the CasaBlanca Events Center. They say save the best for last. This evening is all about great awards and wrapping up a great week of golf with friends. Final tournament scores are posted and trophies are presented.
8pm- Champions Room CasaBlanca Meeting Space- Top 10 winners from each flight will be able to pick up their prize and visit with golf manufacturers.
Friday, May 30
7:30 a.m. Championship round will begin with a shotgun start at the CasaBlanca Golf Club. Participants will include the top four finishers from each flight. Immediately following the championship, finalists will be treated to lunch at the CasaBlanca Golf Course Deli. Live scoring will be provided in the Deli to follow your favorite player in the Championship Round.
1:30 p.m. The winners of the Mesquite Amateur will be announced immediately following lunch. The overall champion will be crowned.

ELIGIBILITY
Entries are open to two-player teams of amateur or senior amateur golfers who: a) are members in good standing of a WSGA member club; b) each have an active GHIN number and USGA Handicap Index, issued by a WSGA member club, not exceeding 16.8 for amateurs and 20.4 for senior amateurs at the time of entry; and c) partners' course handicaps must be within 8 strokes of one another or an adjustment will be made to the higher player's course handicap to meet this requirement. NOTE: Senior Championship contestants must be 55 years of age or older by May 30, 2014. Teams with one player younger than 55 years of age and one player 55 years of age or older must compete in the Amateur Championship (under 55).

ENTRIES
Teams may apply via the WSGA website at www.thewsga.org. Only one credit card can be used to register online and it will be charged at the time of entry. Teams may also apply on a WSGA entry form obtainable from the WSGA office or downloadable from the WSGA website. Team members must register together. An entry fee of $340 shall be paid by every team (including exempt teams). Washington State Sales Tax will apply for all entry fees.

Entries, along with the appropriate fee, must be received by the WSGA by 4:30 p.m. by May 8, 2014. Refunds due to cancellation on or before May 8, 2013 are subject to a $25 service charge. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER MAY 8, 2014.
Late entries will be accepted and placed on an alternate's list to fill spots if they become available up until a time that the WSGA Staff establishes. Late entries will not be accepted unless they are accompanied by the correct entry fee, plus an additional administrative fee of $25. Contestants must contact the WSGA in order to submit a late entry.
CONDITIONS
The WSGA Men's and Senior Men's Best-Ball Championship Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The Committee reserves the right to reject the entry of any applicant, at any time, for any reason. Any decision by the Committee, in any matter, shall be final.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Unacceptable conduct or behavior on the golf course or anywhere on club property will not be tolerated and are grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WSGA Championship. The WSGA definition of unacceptable conduct or behavior will be provided at the championship.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
The use of cellular phones, electronic tablets, noise-making pagers, and other similar, electronic, noise-making devices will be prohibited during championship play. Clarifications and special requests regarding this condition should be directed to the WSGA Championship Staff. NOTE: Breach of this condition may result in immediate disqualification and/or future suspensions.
CARTS/CADDIES
The use of automotive carts during championship play is permitted. Cart fees will be $40 per team, per day and must be paid at the time of entry. Since this is a team competition, only one cart per team is permitted. Contestants who wish to reserve a cart must indicate so on the entry form. Contestants who reserve a cart and do not cancel at least seven days prior to the championship, will be held responsible for the associated cart fees, even if the team subsequently decides to walk or provide their own caddie. No private outside, automotive carts will be permitted during the championship. Players may furnish their own caddie.
DRESS CODE
The WSGA expects all contestants and their caddies to wear suitable attire on the host club property throughout the duration of the championship, including practice rounds. Suitable attire does not include cutoffs, short shorts, tank tops, jeans or denim of any kind or color, tee shirts, sweat pants, or unkempt clothing of any kind. Contestants must wear neat and clean slacks or bermuda or walking shorts. Shorts must be of an appropriate length and must meet the host club dress code policy. Golf shirts with collars or golf mocks are mandatory. Hats and visors must not be worn in the clubhouse. Shoes and socks must be worn at all times. Sandals of any kind, even sandals with soft spikes, are not allowed on the golf course at any time, including practice areas. If additional measures are required by the host club, they will be communicated to all contestants prior to the championship and must be adhered to. Gallery must adhere to the host club dress code policy. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in disqualification and removal from the course.
CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
36-hole, Four-Ball stroke play (more commonly referred to as best-ball). The Amateur and Senior Amateur (55 and older) Championships will run concurrently (gross and net competitions within each). Each championship will play from a separate set of tees. Ties for the overall gross champions in either the Amateur or Senior Amateur Championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff, in four-ball format, immediately following the conclusion of the final round.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY
Refunds are not available after the closing deadline except for documented and approved medical reasons. All refunds are subject to a $25 service fee.
During play of the championship, a “Withdrawal Form”, available from a WSGA staff member, must be completed by any competitor withdrawing. Entrants who unofficially withdraw, by not filling out a form or without sufficient reason, may not be granted entry into any future WSGA championship for a minimum of two years.

LODGING
The WSGA recommends that contestants make their lodging arrangements at the earliest possible date. The WSGA has made arrangements for reserved rooms at the following hotel. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as WSGA Men's or Senior Men's Best-Ball Championship participants and must make reservations prior to the cut off date. Rates are subject to change after the cut-off date.
