| 51st Annual Lilac City Invititational | 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM | Date: 2014-07-10 - 2014-07-13 The Fairways Golf Course is hosting the 51st Annual Lilac City Invitational this July 10th-13th. Founded by PGA Professional Joe Durgan in 1960, the Lilac is widely recognized as one of the premier competitive regional golf events for professionals and amateurs in the Pacific Northwest. It’s list of competitors has included current and former PGA Tour professionals Kirk Triplett, Don Bies, Rod Funseth, and Pat Fitzsimmons, mini tour pro’s from the Canadian, Pepsi, Cascade, and Spanos tours, PGA club professionals, elite collegiate golfers, and amateurs from as far away as Phoenix, AZ. The Lilac is one of the very few if not only remaining 72 hole golf tournaments in the country outside of the major professional tours. | TGA Senior City Amateur 2014 | 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM | The Tacoma Golf Association (TGA) presents the Clarence Taylor Tacoma Senior & Super Senior City Amateur Championship. The event will consist of 36 holes gross and net play competition. The lowest gross score in the Senior & Super Senior divisions will be respective City Amateur Champions. Gross & Net competition will be held in both age divisions. Ghin Handicap index as of July 6th will be used for net considerations. Players age 50 thru 69 will be in the Senior division and the Super Senior division will be ages 70 and up. Competition will be conducted under USGA Rules. Distance measuring devices will be allowed during this competition. All prizes will be in the form of gift certificates, redeemable at the Brookdale Golf Course. Tee times will start at 9:00 am and will be available at the hosting clubs 24 hours prior to play date. On Friday, a TGA hosted lunch and beverage will be served upon completion of your round.
